DEFINITION OF POSITIONThe School-Based Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing direct mental health services to students in grades P-12 experiencing behavioral and/or mental health wellness difficulties that interfere with their academic progress and social/emotional functioning in the school environment.  The therapist may also provide consultation services to school staff and multi-tier systems to support the overall mental health wellness goals of the schools.  The therapist must have a high degree of self-motivation and initiation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand, walk, and sit frequently or for prolonged periods of time. Additionally, physical abilities include lifting/carrying/ pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling/typing, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision. Ability to work with physically active students.
