Description

DEFINITION OF POSITION:  Support the nutrition services program by covering absences at various locations throughout the district on an as needed basis.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler’s permit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with food preparation
  • Understanding of food safety and proper food handling
  • Experience cashiering and record keeping

ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of foods
  • Accept payments on accounts for student and adult meals
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, slicers, and dishwasher
  • Implement defined standards of safety and sanitation
  • Perform related duties as assigned including organizing, cleaning, and dishwashing
  • Work positively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization
  • Work with colleagues in a collaborative manner and be a positive team builder
  • Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Deal with the public, other agencies and district employees in a positive and productive manner
  • Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Work with minimal supervision and be flexible

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Terms of Assignment:  On call as needed
  • Salary:  $17.18/hour
  • Benefits:  Paid sick leave per RCW 49.46.210
